Worth it All

Good Morning. "This is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it." Psalm 118:24. What a beautiful day God has made today. We praise God this morning that Phil is still stable. They have been able to decrease his blood pressure medication a little. He felt a little cooler this morning, and his heart was not having as many funky beats. The Infectious Disease doctor came by and added another antibiotic this morning. They haven't identified the source of the infection yet. They are also going to change all of his lines today- his arterial line and his central line. His oxygen is still maxed out and he is still in the 60's on his oxygen pressure which is stable but would be better if it was higher. His nurse is Tammy today. Please pray for her. She said his INR was 1.7 today which is up from 1.3 yesterday. Continue to pray for this liver. We haven't seen any doctors yet this morning. Beth and I had a good time in the waiting room singing "You are God Alone" that I posted earlier this morning and talked more about how God is the same in the good times and bad, our wedding and now this. He is always on his throne.

Please pray for a man we met this morning, Phil, and his wife Alma. She has had 16 surgeries in 2 years for cancer. They keep taking bone from her arms and legs and putting it in her jaw, but her skin is so skin it tears.

God continues to speak to me through song. One of my friends reminded me last night of the following song, and I wanted to share it with everyone.

Worth It All by Rita Springer

I don't understand Your ways
Oh but I will give You my song
Give You all of my praise
You hold on to all my pain
With it You are pulling me closer
And pulling me into Your ways

Now around every corner
And up every mountain
I'm not looking for crowns
Or the water from fountains
I'm desperate in seeking, frantic believing
That the sight of Your face
Is all that I need
I will say to You

It's gonna be worth it
It's gonna be worth it
It's gonna be worth it all
I believe this
It's gonna be worth it
It's gonna be worth it
It's gonna be worth it all
I believe this

You're gonna be worth it
You're gonna be worth it
You're gonna be worth it all
I believe this
You're gonna be worth it
You're gonna be worth it
You're gonna be worth it all
I believe this

The sight of His face is all that we need and will be worth it all.

Another song this morning that came to mind.

Overwhelm Me by Michael Bleecker
http://hv.thevillagechurch.net/resource_files/audio/20070102AB01M_MichaelBleecker_OverwhelmMe.mp3
Take not Thy presence from me for I desire to know You more
For you are worthy of all, You’re worthy of all I am and more

I need to set my mind on things above,
In the heavens and in my heart
Who created a mountain
And Who set a spark that grew into a flame that burns deeply for You

Overwhelm me Take me from this place and
put me in the place where You are
Overwhelm me Shake the ground I stand on
I want to be dependant on You…on only You.

I stand before You King, filthy, unworthy
You still wash me clean, and say to me, "My child you're worthy"

Psalm 51:10-12 - Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit
within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence and do not take Your Holy Spirit
from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation and sustain me with a willing spirit.

Mark 7:37 - People were overwhelmed with amazement, “He has done everything
well…He even makes the deaf hear and the mute speak.”

Psalm 62:7-8 - My salvation and my honor depend on God; He is my mighty rock,
my refuge. Trust in Him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to Him, for God
is our refuge.

Mighty to Save by Hillsong

Everyone needs compassion,
Love that's never failing;
Let mercy fall on me.

Everyone needs forgiveness,
The kindness of a Saviour;
The Hope of nations.

Saviour, He can move the mountains,
My God is Mighty to save,
He is Mighty to save.

Forever, Author of salvation,
He rose and conquered the grave,
Jesus conquered the grave.

So take me as You find me,
All my fears and failures,
Fill my life again.

I give my life to follow
Everything I believe in,
Now I surrender.

My Saviour, He can move the mountains,
My God is Mighty to save,
He is Mighty to save.

Forever, Author of salvation,
He rose and conquered the grave,
Jesus conquered the grave.

Shine your light and let the whole world see,
We're singing for the glory of the risen King...Jesus

My Saviour, He can move the mountains,
My God is Mighty to save,
He is Mighty to save.

Forever, Author of salvation,
He rose and conquered the grave,
Jesus conquered the grave.

My Saviour, you can move the mountains,
You are mighty to save,
You are mighty to save.

Forever, Author of Salvation,
You rose and conquered the grave,
Yes you conquered the grave

Jesus is mighty to save- no matter where we are at or the situation. Our prayer is that those around us would see that we are singing for the glory of the king- Jesus.

God just keeps telling us that He is not finished yet and that He is working in greater ways. May He restore to all of us the JOY of our salvation.

  1. I want to tell you all that you are amazing! I cannot imagine how exhausted you have to be, both mentally and physically. Your posts are so extremely detailed in keeping everyone up and informed on Phil's condition and informing us how to pray. Sometimes I feel like I am at the hospital with you hearing the reports! Bravo! It is beyond obvious that God is so ministering and speaking to you all continually and holding you and surrounding you with grace and faith and love. You are also constantly looking around and being in tune with others you can minister to and pray for even with such a desperate situation going on with your own family. Thank you! You all are inspirations to us! Your attitudes are amazing! Your faith is more than inspiring. Your heavenly father is pleased and adores you all. He hears your cries and loves you deeply. He loves Phil more than you possibly can. He has a plan. His timing is perfect. He is with you. He is with Phil. Hold on and rest in Him. We are standing with you still. Thank you for modeling such faith and hope!

    We love you all!

  2. My prayer for you is that God will give the family peace and rest.

Beth, I lift you up and ask that God let you know that He has both you and Phil in the palm of his hand. That you will sleep well and that your rest will be multiplied.

For the kids, I pray that God continues to lift you and guide you. That He will continue to allow you to speak and impact those that God places in your paths.

For Phil, I know that God has His plan and His timing, but in my finite humanness I am asking for a miraculous healing that defies all of the medical knowledge that surrounds him. That the only conclusion that can be reached, even by an unbeliever, is that God surely has reached down and touched Phil and only that miracle can explain the healing that has taken place.
