Status One

So at 4:30PM this afternoon the liver surgeons told us that Phil's liver continue to do worse as evidenced by his increasing liver enzymes. So at that time they made the decision to relist him on the transplant list for another liver. He would be status one which means the emergency list. They look all over the entire US and Puerto Rico and are now they are able to be selective in the choosing process. Example, if an eight year old liver came available in New York, he wouldn't necessarily have to take it due to Phil's stable status. A private jet (Baylor's leer jet) will be sent to pick up his new liver. If it is closer, then his actual surgeons will go and harvest the organ themselves and personally bring the liver back. Phil would be already on the operating table ready to accept the liver when it arrives.
