Lungs Improving

Good Morning Everyone. Justin, Beth, and I all decided to sleep in the motor home last night because they sedated Phil more so he could rest. We have noticed that even when we are just standing there he gets a little worked up with his breathing so we decided it would best for us to not be in there. We also thought we may need the sleep. It was good rest for which we are thankful.

We walked in this morning and Phil's FiO2 was down to 50!!! Yes 50. Praise God!!! He was 90 when we left last night at 10PM. We praise God for this improvement. His respirations have decreased to 16-20 respirations a minute which is answered prayer. He was breathing 40 times a minute when we left. They would like to keep his FiO2 at 50 all day before he goes to surgery. He looked so much more comfortable this morning.

We still haven't talked with the surgeons today so all that we know thus far is by observation and through the nurses. We are happy Robert, nurse, is back today. I don't know the exact numbers, but the liver is not doint well. They received 1 offer that we know of last night and turned it down. They are trying to discern when is the best time to take him to the operating room.

His kidneys still aren't working right. His creatinine is 3.8 again today which is super high. He is still making good urine. Usually you give fluids to people for this but they want to keep him super dry to keep the fluid off of his lungs. Please pray that God would heal his kidneys so that he wouldn't need a kidney as well.

This is the latest and I will post after we speak with the doctors. Praise God again for the improvement in his lungs this morning.
