We spoke with Dr. Ruiz and our goals for today are to keep decreasing the FiO2. He is now down to 55%. No other changes really. The cultures still aren't back yet which is a good thing. They are keeping him sedated as they continue to try to wean him off the ventilator. They are continuing the chest physical therapy. The machine looks like a car waxer. They put it on the front of his chest 4 times a day.
They are considering stopping dialysis today in order to see what his kidneys do on their own.
His liver coagulation improved today. His INR is 1.6 and this is without the plasma. Normal is less than 1.0. Praise God that his liver is still hanging in there. His bilirubin increased today to 5.2. Robert said this may be the liver starting to work a little and that usually the bilirubin is the last to go down. The surgeons are still waiting for the perfect liver, but please continue to pray for God to heal this one if it is His will.
We just want everyone to know that Beth and I are going to make a quick trip to the house today so that we can get and pay some bills. I just wanted to let everyone know in case anyone was planning on coming. We will be back probably by 7ish.
I know that some people are not able to view comments and I wanted to share this comment from our pastor with you.
"Everyone reading this please stop and say a prayer for Phil today. It seems to me that Phil's improvements have always come during times that God's people are praying for him. As a church body let's surround Phil and his entire family with prayer throughout the entire day. I also encourage you to write out your prayers, post them here, or send them to the family. PRAY, PRAY, PRAY!" In His Name, Leighton Flowers"
