Talked to Dr. Ruiz

Phil continues to be very restless. Poor thing, he can't get comfortable. The bed is not long enough and he is on the air matress. They turned off all sedation now and are hoping for him to start following commands. At this point, he follows commands off and on, but he does calm down with our voices. They are given him morphine and lortab for his pain. Dr. Ruiz says that his INR went up to 2.0 today which tells us that the clotting function is still not working. They are going to do the ultrasound this morning because he wants to see if those dead areas have spread. If they have, he will consider reactivating him on the status one list. Please keep praying for this liver and for the doctors for discernment on what to do. Dr. Ruiz wants to see how his mental status is today. He said it may take a while for him to wake up because he has been on sedation for so long. He wants to try and get him off the ventilator today, but they are hesitant if he is not following commands. He is still doing well on the ventilator though.

The kidney doctor came by and said we will hold off on dialysis for the rest of the day and see how his kidneys do today. Pray that they continue to produce urine.

Praise God for no infection at this time. Dr. Ruiz was very happy about this especially if he does have to go back to surgery. He said 2 days ago his white blood cell count was elevated indicating a possible infection, but it has gone down. They hammered him with antibiotics.

We have yet to see the lung doctor today and I will update you when we see him. I will also update once they do the liver sonogram.

Pray that Phil will feel God holding him and will be comforted and able to rest and be at ease. I am going to try and take my laptop in and play some praise music for him. Another family did that for their family. I think that will help calm him.

Update more as I know it!
