Back on the list

Good Morning. It was a rough night last night. At midnight, they decided to take Phil off of sedation, but keep him where he was at on the ventilator. He woke up a little more than we have seen him thus far. He responded to our voices and opened his eyes half way. I saw him start to move his eyes laterally which is the first time this happened. He squeezed my hand when I asked him to. He would come out of it off and on. God answered our prayers by relieving his leg cramps. They gave his some potassium as well. So at least last night he wasn't kicking around as much. Everytime they reposition him, he slides back down. He started breathing really fast about 40 breaths per minuite and his oxygen saturation started to go down. His blood pressure started to go up. They did a blood gas and his oxygen saturation was down into the 50's which is low. They put him back on sedation and have had to increase the percent oxygen they are giving him back to 90 because he is not oxygenating his blood well. Please pray for his lungs to strengthen and that he would be able to get the proper oxygen in his blood.

So, the liver is not doing so hot. This morning his bilirubin went up to 4.6. It had been trending down over the past few days from 3.7 to 3.5 to 3.1 yesterday. Also, his clotting function is headed in the wrong direction. His INR today is 2.2 up from 1.8. So, they are relisting him for a new liver. He may be listed on one of two lists. They are trying to figure out how long he can be on the status one list. If he can't be on that one, they will put him on the regular list but his score will be high enough to where he would be at the top of the list. Please pray for this current liver, that God would heal it is His will. If He wants him to receive another liver, please pray for God's perfect timing and for the perfect liver. Pray that God would sustain Phil until the proper time. Pray that He would prepare his body to endure another surgery.

Praise God that he doesn't have any infections. This is huge right now. Continue to pray against infection as this would keep him from going back to surgery.

His kidneys continue to hold today. His creatinine is stable at 3.8 today. He continues to have good urine output so this is a huge blessing. No dialysis yet today so this is good. Pray that they would continue to heal.

Pray for us as we are kind of beat. As Phil has been waking up it has been physically challenging as we massage his legs to help the cramps and constantly talk to him as he is waking up. They told us they don't want him to wake up enough to where he knows what is going on but they do want to keep him active.

The doctors will be back this afternoon with more information. Will post when we know. Please keep praying. It is comforting to know that when I am so exhausted and don't know how to pray that there are fellow saints praying.
